Gold Tops Old Record, Silver and Platinum Prices Advance
June 8, 2010 at 2:46 PM

Bullion update ...New York gold futures broke new record ground on Tuesday as euro zone financial turmoil and global recession worries raised safe-haven buying.

Gold prices reached just over $1,254 an ounce before paring gains to settle up 0.4 percent.

Other metals climbed as well, with palladium's percent gain the highest at 2.7 percent. Crude oil joined the commodities rally, rising 0.8 percent and posting the first increase in three days.

Fractional American Gold Eagle Bullion Values
June 8, 2010 at 5:51 AM

Last year's fractionals were released on December 3, 2009, which is atypical. They are usually issued much earlier and available for most of the year. But exceedingly high demand for the one ounce coins resulted in delays. Considering these circumstances, slighter mintages could have been expected for the smaller coins.
