Precious metals prices futures opened higher Wednesday morning, although palladium has since turned lower. U.S. gold for December delivery was up $16.30 to $1203.80 an ounce as of 11:32 AM Eastern Time. Silver rose to $18.610 an ounce, gaining 18.8 cents. In PGM metals, platinum was up $3.00 to $1590.10 an ounce while palladium declined $5.05 to $501.40 an ounce.
