US Mint Coin Production in June Hits 2011 High, Olympic Quarter Mintages Revealed |
The United States Mint struck more coins for circulation in June 2011 than in any previous month of this year, according to the latest coin production figures released by the bureau on Monday. The Mint's production pace in June surpassed May's by 11.8 percent, marking a third-straight monthly increase. It was the busiest month for the United States Mint since the same time of a year ago. The figures also revealed mintages for the Olympic National Park Quarter which began circulating on June 13. The quarters are the most scarce to date. |
